Kovarus Raises Money to Benefit The Family Giving Tree

South San Francisco Technology Consulting Firm Aims to Raise Funds
to Go Towards Gifts For Local Children in the Holiday Wish Program

South San Francisco, Calif., November 3, 2008
– Kovarus, Inc., a premier technology consulting firm specializing in delivering virtualization, enterprise storage and networking solutions, today announced it will host a Family Giving Tree with hopes to raise enough money to sponsor at least 250 children in the Holiday Wish Program. The program works with more than 250 bay area social service agencies to gather wish lists from children they serve year-round. The wish lists are then crafted into wish cards and distributed out to all participating host companies.

“We are pleased to have Kovarus participate in this year’s Holiday Wish Program,” said Andrea Stallings, Program Manager at The Family Giving Tree. “Without sponsorship from companies like Kovarus, thousands of local children would be without a holiday gift, and worse yet, a happy holiday memory. We continue to need the generosity of organizations such as Kovarus to make this program a success, and ultimately a child’s wish come true.”

The Family Giving Tree is a local nonprofit organization dedicated to fulfilling holiday wishes of children who would otherwise go without gifts. The Family Giving Tree Holiday Wish Program started as a college class project in 1990 and since then has become the largest gift donation program in California.

“Kovarus is committed to giving back to our community,” stated Peter Castaldi, Principal at Kovarus, "And I couldn’t think of a better way than providing gifts to our local children in need, especially during these tough economic times.”  Kovarus will donate funds from deals that close between November 1, 2008 and December 12, 2008. The money raised will go towards gift purchases based on wish cards received from the Holiday Wish Program.

About The Family Giving Tree
The Family Giving Tree program began in 1990 as a San Jose State University MBA class project. Jennifer Cullenbine and Todd Yoshida were asked to "create a program that adds value to someone else's life."  They created The Family Giving Tree with the hope of providing Christmas gifts to 300 children in East Palo Alto. Encouraged by the success of the first year, Jennifer decided to continue the program. In the 16th year of the program's existence, the number of gifts donated had swelled to 63,000, making The Family Giving Tree the largest gift donation program in California.
